Not capitalizing my email address was the first in a series of nerve-wreaking experience associated with filling up the UCAS form. Just when I thought I'd completed the form, I found a serious flaw in my Personal Statement. Problem was, I already had it printed on the form. Darn.
I have no idea why college doesn't stock UCAS forms; think they expect us to get it right the first time. So, off I went to the British Council to get a couple more just in case I screwed up again. Wanted to take more for a friend, but the chinese lady there was apparently having a bad day at the office; she didn't seem that friendly. Darn.
Was delighted though to see that the Council has a well-stocked library; lots of books and magazines to flip through. The Ikea-looking comfy sofas were a great touch too. Spent some 3 hours reading Practical Photography and this really cool Science-related magazine (can't recall the title though). Am going to make it a point to visit the Council at least once a month for my dose of cool UK mags. They have a great collection of DVDs too; spotted an entire collection of the Blackadder series. One has to be a member to borrow books and DVDs though. Not that it's expensive: only RM80/year (note the sarcasm). Darn.
Filling up the form the second time wasn't fun at all. Messed up for the second time with wrong choice of pen; the ink was the seep-through kind. Balled up the form and started on a new one with a new pen, making sure that nothing would conspire against my completing the form again. Had it done in the end. All I have to do now is to print my revised Personal Statement onto the form on Monday and submit it to the person-in-charge if possible. Printing the Personal Statement could potentially be a disaster too; am keeping my fingers crossed it'll be done right.
