Ka-ching!

Hanks Cracks Da Vinci Cast? I have nothing against Tom Hanks; I think he's a great actor and all (The Terminal was so good). But, of all people, him as Robert Langdon? Dan Brown has never quite offered a detailed description of Langdon, but he does allude at one point in Da Vinci Code that Langdon is "Harrison Ford in harris tweed". Too bad Ford is a tad long in the tooth to play forty-something Langdon convincingly. We could only hope that the movie does justice to Dan Brown's brilliance.

Another Tom Hanks related news (somewhat): Disney is working on Toy Story 3; this time without the wizardry of Pixar. It's not mentioned whether Hanks will reprise his role as Woody though. Anyway, have any of you seen The Incredibles? From all those rave reviews, I gather it's mighty incredible for a cartoon, uhm, I mean animation (Note to self: never be caught dead using the unfitting misnomer "cartoon" when referring to cool animated flicks).

Steve Jobs is at an enviable position now. Heck, I would give anything to be in his shoes (I don't even mind donning black turtlenecks; potential fashion-harakiri, those). And why wouldn't anyone want to be Steve Jobs, the leading man in Who Wants To Be A Billionaire And Own The World's Coolest Companies? The guy is at the helm of Apple and Pixar. If it's up to me, I would have Apple and Pixar as bona fide synonyms of the word "cool".

However, if true, this extremely well-written article cum story suggests that we give Steve Jobs too much credit for being a visionary. It's claimed in the article that Jobs scoffed at the idea of giving songs ratings according to popularity and adding playcount (integral parts to iTunes' smart playlist feature) on iTunes. And Jobs isn't exactly portrayed as a great guy to hang out with. The article is terribly long, but a great read nontheless, what with the cool accompanying links.

Before signing off, I hope it's not too late to with you guys a Selamat Hari Raya! I know most of you'd been to the kampung and back now at work but here's Sudirman's Balik Kampung (translation: Homecoming) to remind you of your folks back home!
