Odds&Ends | A Great Film, This Is

My liking for mini-boxed raisins has got me tagged. Apparently, there's this meme going around which requires tagged person(s) to choose 5 occupations from a list of professions and complete phrases that go If I could be a (chosen occupation).... Here then is what I would or wouldn't do if I could be a:

lawyer, I wouldn't hesitate to say that the sun actually revolves around the earth. Everyone will be stupid enough to believe a lawyer's words.

bonnie pirate, I would sing "Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of rum to rub on my awesome pecs!"

midget stripper, I would make Tool Too Small my strip routine song.

crocodile hunter, I would hunt crocodiles! Hmm, maybe an alligator or two.

Jedi, I wouldn't have to buy that super pricey lightsaber replica to slash ass.

Speaking of which, that super pricey lighsaber replica happens to be super cool too. I would love to get myself one, but it's not the way of the Force. It's totally against the Jedi Code to spend more than half a thousand of my hard-earned Republic credits on a fake lightsaber. No way, we real Jedis are civilized; we slash with lightsabers that defy laws of Physics, not some toy fit only for younglings. It would however be great to own one. You know, just to impress the chicks without getting them hurt.

It's the post-Star-Wars-movie syndrom, I think, that's making me itch for the replica. I wouldn't be so bold as to say Revenge of the Sith is the best of all Star Wars installments, but hackneyed as it may sound, the Force is strong with this one. I don't see how you could not have liked Episode 3 unless you've been reading reviews somewhere and have a preconceived idea about how it doesn't measure up to the original trilogy.

Part of the appeal of Sith is seeing all the could-have and would-have-beens. Is it really inenvitable that Anakin would turn to the dark side? At one point, we're made to believe that there may be a tiny glimmer of hope that he wouldn't. Being trained in the way of the Force (just so that you know, I used to saber-clash with my brothers over the home LAN network), the other part of the appeal is of course seeing the Jedis harnessing the Force to bump off the annoying droids.

Revenge of the Sith is a great end to an equally amazing beginning. Watch it, you will (Jedi mind trick used). May the Force be with you.
