Ka-ching!

My trusty iPod, casting light in the dark. See how bright it shines!

I'm all smitten with podcasting. No, podcasting is not a girl I have a crush on, you funny non-geeks. In the words of podcasting pioneer, Adam Curry, podcasting is Tivo meets Wayne's World; it's radio-on-demand when you want it!

Podcasting has been around for ages but it's only recently, thanks to iTunes, that it goes mainstream. They make a fine pair, podcasting and iTunes; the appeal is in the fact that it's so easy to use. iTunes has a podcast directory which you can browse through and upon finding a podcast that sounds promising, you could do what they would soon refer to in the industry as 1-click subscribing (patent pending). Anyway, just so that you know, I enjoy the following podcasts:

The Dawn and Drew Show!
Husband and wife team, Dawn and Drew, know how to keep listeners wanting more. Though little more than rambles, the show is weirdly addictive (it has to be the weird sense of humour). Bear in mind that the show is always profane, never profound (keep out of reach of children at all costs). It's good fun though; several weeks worth of episodes kept me entertained during the long bus ride I had to take last Sunday.

Inside Mac Radio
Don't claim to be an Apple fan if you don't listen to this amazingly done podcast. You get to know how the company is doing on Wall Street, new products and all-things Apple. The anchors have a fine sense of humour too. For instance, when refuting a letter from one of the listeners who wanted the show to concentrate only on the good news, Ken Ray quipped, "The second Steve Jobs saves a puppy, I'll let you know".

Queer Eye Hip Tips
I was never hip. Lucky me, the Fab 5 is here to the rescue! I now know that cutting my own hair is a no-no and that I should never get myself cheap shoes because they won't get me anywhere with women. Amazing stuff. (note: at time of writing, iTunes doesn't seem to be able to retrieve new episodes of the podcast).

Till the next Odds&Ends podcast review, that's all I have for you folks. I should probably get back to listening to Dawn and Drew debate over whether their dog needs a toilet break. Addictive stuff.
