Odds&Ends | 2005

Life is about making serendipitous discoveries; I found this shot taken a few months back at St. James' Park as I was looking through my collection of photos. I miss fine warm September days. Then again, life is about making do.

There's no better time of the year than New Year's Eve to indulge in generalizations about Life. It is on this day that you call upon the accumulated wisdom from the year past and make conclusions regarding Life in 20 words or less. Here then are 5 things I have to say about Life:

Life is like a ferris wheel; the only comfort is that you don't have to pay 13 quid to get on it.

Life is full of equations; despite what Google and Deep Thought say, the answer to one of them is not 42 because it doesn't make freaking sense.

Life is an endless series of tests; you're supposed to cheat in tests.

Life is like going on a first date; take it easy, try not to fuck up.

Life is a joke; as jokes go, it's comedy gold.

I've more aphorisms about Life but 5 seems like an appropriate number to use to bid farewell to the year 2005 (do not question my logic). So, what's your 20-words-or-less about Life? While you're busy coming up with witty quips, here's wishing you a Happy New Year! May 2006 be full of Life!
