Ka-ching!

January 06, 2006, Friday

My brother and his friends were here in London a few weeks back. He's doing a "blogseries", recounting the "unforgettable adventure" he had in London.

London is the city to visit. It's vibrant, interesting, fun -the weather could be an arse sometimes, but that's it; there's nothing you would not like about this place. You would like to tour London, wouldn't you? "But, it's expensive", you say? Yes, people are known to have dropped a few notches in financial magazines' lists of Richest People after a visit to London but that doesn't mean you have to break the bank to see the best of London. Not with me as your tour guide.

"Best tour guide I've had in a long time..."- testimonial by Ms. Joyce Tagal.

I operate on the prescient knowledge that London hoteliers, restaurant owners and the TfL will relieve you of your British coins and notes and leave you high and dry with a budget overrun. That is why I offer to take you around London free of charge. Here's what you get gratis:

  • A crash course on reading the tube map.
  • A walking London map. Caveat: utterly unreliable.
  • Snippets of trivia about Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and the like. When memory fails, may offer, offhandedly, precise links to related entries on Wikipedia.
  • A guide to the best places to eat on a shoe string. May even cook you a meal!
  • Great pictures of you at London's iconic spots. "Great", in this case, may be a loosely-used term.
  • And many more!
  • Yes, would-be visitors to London, hesitate no more; call me right now at 1800-88-LONDON. I'll make your stay comfy without you having to spend too much money! Now, that's a promise!
