Ka-ching!

February 26, 2006, Sunday

The view along the way to Loughborough by train was breathtaking. This is the only shot that isn't marred by reflections on the window.

I was tagged to write 5 weird things about myself. So, this is as good a time as any to tell you how weird I am. Today, I shall come clean; no longer am I continuing the charade in fear of those who are quick to judge.

Weird Thing #1: I'm into country music. Y'all heard me right, folks: I'm a fan of country music. I've been a closeted country music lover all these years, hiding behind a faked affinity for such acts as Jet and Bowling For Soup. The primary reason is that I had to act my age; country music is for geezers like George Bush. It would be totally uncool to be associated with old people's music and George W Bush. See, that's a double whammy right there.

But I'm going to be true to myself. To hell with being cool; I hereby proclaim my undying love for country music and am going to post this potentially humiliating recording of myself singing along to Joaquin Phoenix's rendition of Ring of Fire to prove my allegience. I've even made a cover art for the recording in case you're weird enough to want to put it in your iPod.

At this point, Weird Thing #2 will probably make sense: I have a fetish for girls who speak in a Southern drawl. Reese Witherspoon's attractiveness level in Walk the Line in which she speaks in aforementioned accent is a hundred fold higher than it is in Legally Blond. Even the much-hated-for-her-songs Jessica Simpson sounds hot when as Daisy Duke she speaks in that twang I have a weird liking for.

"3" is probably the tipping point before one is considered a weirdo. Lest I come across as queer, I shall stop at 2 weird things about myself. Now folks, it's time to practise reciprocity by telling me at least 2 weird things about y'all!
