Ka-ching!

Watching Mena Trott's presentation at TED, I was awashed with a sudden nostalgic need to go through my archives. As I sat reading, the words triggered memories thought to have been long lost; I could actually recall how I was feeling and where I was writing each and single post! Like this entry; I know for certain that I was sitting at the quiet and not-too-cold corner in college's library and that I felt pretty good.

Funnily enough, the best reads aren't the movie and book reviews or the travelogs I pride myself for, but the boring and personal entries like the ones about how I felt and what I did for the day; they, being proof that I'd lived, make me feel- alive.

The best part about going through my archives would have to be the photos; they seem to be able to metaphysically bring me back to the moment when I took them. For instance, the visual cue from the photo above brings me back to that beautiful day in Venice and I am, promptly, reminded of the bad experience of being fined €35 for getting on the waterbus without paying for a ticket. Ah, to think I tried so hard to suppress that memory.
