I woke up this morning and realized that I visit Facebook more than my own blog, which explains the lack of updates. I don't know about you, but I use Facebook to stalk. I find it more useful than a pair of binoculars and the latest in wiretapping technology.
My Mum agrees with me. She has recently joined Facebook to check out my profile page. No longer can I put up cool anti-authoritarian but potentially incriminating status statements like "Zhixin is high on mushrooms". It'll probably take her a while to figure out that I'm not talking about shiitake mushrooms, but the harm would have been done.
It's not unprecedented; people on the seniority side have joined Facebook. But they joined to write articles like "Facebook for Fiftysomethings". I have a sneaking suspicion, however, backed by a posting on my cousin's wall, that my Mum is part of the coolest social networking website to stalk me.
